Evaluation of the Panama Bilingüe Program teacher training

This evaluation, being carried out by CAF, the Inter-American Dialogue (IAD) and CIEdu, has as its objective the delivery of a first phase of evaluation on the Panama Bilingüe Program (PPB) with regard to its teacher training component. The results will be used as inputs for reformulating and advancing the implementation of PPB teacher training in the coming years and will serve to orient actions for academic and institutional strengthening, contributing to the consolidation of public policy on the teaching of English in Panama.

This project seeks to evaluate qualitatively the technical consistency of PPB teacher training through an analytical review of the information substantiating the associated objectives and implementation; a series of surveys directed toward the various actors involved in the PPB teacher training; participative workshops with key actors for further qualitative data collection; and a comparison of PPB with other English teaching programs in Latin America and the world.
